From the Owners’ Office
———————–
If you are a student, you are well aware that school’s out. If
school is but a distant memory for you (as it is becoming for Anne
and me), it is still cause to celebrate. There is just something
about summer that makes things seem a bit better…
For most of us, summer often brings a short (or long) break from
the oboe. For our thoughts about that, jump on over to our blog by

Reed “Tip” of the Month
————————-
Summer is hot, and heat and reeds don’t usually get along. Actually,
it’s not the heat that they mind. They really can’t stand when
their masters keep moving them from hot to cold to hot to cold.
Reeds are temperamental animals and they don’t always adjust well
to change.
Not only does the temperature make reeds harder to deal with, but
moving from hot to cold brings a higher chance that your beautiful
reed will…. CRACK!
Unfortunately, there is not much for you to do but to BE
PREPARED. Have enough reeds that you aren’t left out in the cold
(pun intended) when something goes awry. It’s just part of playing
this instrument we call the oboe.
