From the Owners’ Office
———————–
School is just around the corner. If you have been
taking some time off this summer, be sure to get your chops
in order well before you actually need them to play.
Sometimes reentry into the world of oboe playing can be
a bit rough.
Good luck!
The BUZZ
————–
Every now and again, FREE reeds make their way into
an issue of the Reed Report. They are a rare breed,
so catch ’em while you can.
Here’s the scoop…
Order 3 Professional or 3 Regular Reeds and get an
additional reed for FREE.
For example, if you order 3 Professional Reeds,
you get another Professional Reed. Order 3 Regular
Reeds and, voila, you get another Regular Reed.
Here’s the catch… (there always is)
The FREE reed offer expires at 11:59 PM on Wednesday,
August 17, 2005. One FREE Reed per order only.
HOW TO GET YOUR FREE REED
————————-
1. Surf to: http://www.mklreeds.com
2. Click on any of the links to the order reeds page.
3. Fill your cart with 3 Professional or 3 Regular Reeds
4. When you are checking out, please enter “Free Reed” in the
“Comments and Special Instructions” box on the payment page.
(Don’t worry if you forget, you’ll still get your FREE reed)
That’s it! Your reeds are on their way!
Reed “Tip” of the Month
————————-
Just like reeds, oboes are susceptible to minute changes
due to weather, use, and daily wear and tear. Be aware of
how your oboe feels — if it’s not sealing, if you’re
consistently getting water in your keys, or if you’re missing
attacks, check to make sure everything is in adjustment.
If none of your “reeds” will allow to tongue a low D without
chipping the note, for instance, the problem is probably not a
reed issue, but an oboe issue.
