From the Owners’ Office
———————–
September is just about upon us, and almost everyone will be heading
back to school or work in the next few weeks. Think about what
your goals might be, musically or otherwise. This is a great time to
get rejuvenated and reorganized!

The BUZZ
————–
Try our “Back-to-School Sampler”, and save $3!

What is this “sampler”, and why would you want it??

With our Back-to-School Sampler, you will receive:
1 REGULAR reed, 1 PROFESSIONAL reed, and an MKL Reeds pencil!

As the weather starts to settle in, and as you get a better feel
for what your “reed needs” are as school begins, you might find
yourself needing reeds of slightly different strengths and with
slightly different qualities. Or, you might be a new customer who
just wants to try a little bit of the 2 kinds of reeds we offer.

Either way, the sampler is for you! We are offering this special
for a limited time only, and at a $3 savings off the regular price.

Reed “Tip” of the Month
————————-
As you acquire more reeds and others get old, keep track of
what’s in your reed case. Every reed has different strengths
and weaknesses, and part of being an oboist is choosing the right
one for the task at hand. Whether you organize you reeds from
easiest to hardest, oldest to newest, or your favorite to least
favorite, know each of your reed’s potential and know when it’s time
to clean out some of the ones that are always in the case that
never get played for one reason or another.

Also, if you order different types of reeds, such as in
our sampler pack, make a
note of which reed is which so you’ll know what to order
later on. If a regular and professional reed are not
different thread colors, make a mark on the cork of one
of both to help you tell them apart. The more you know
your reeds, the more you can use each one to
its greatest potential!
