We are proud to announce the winner of this week’s “mini” essay
contest (announced in our last email note). Yes, the larger essay
contest is STILL going, but we decided to give some little
prizes along the way.

The winning essay for this week was submitted by Ashley Godwin
of Tennessee.

Her essay will be published on our website (along with all of the
other winners’ creations) during the month of May.

Needless to say, Ashley’s oboe adventures have taken her to some
pretty interesting places, including straight through a swarm of
cicadas. Yuck!

So, Ashley, your free reed is on its way! Congratulations!

And for those of you still waiting for that creative epiphany,
don’t worry, you still have time.
